A Series of Reasons to Feel Fortunate About Events

In a Huffington Post piece, author Jason Pinter posits that despite economic woes and a world of publishing drama, now is “quite possibly the most exciting period to be a reader in [his] lifetime.” We are inclined to agree, especially with stories like this out on the wire. Documentary filmmaker Tom Corwin bought a decommissioned bookmobile last October, and now he’s taking it on the road, filming various authors—such as Daniel Handler, a.k.a. Lemony Snicket—taking turns behind the wheel and talking about “the books that have touched their lives.” Reading the San Francisco Chronicle‘s piece about Corwin and Handler’s trip to Handler’s childhood library—yeah, we’re pretty excited about now.

You can read more about Corwin’s documentary, see some of the Handler footage, or donate money to the project here.
