How much do we love the news that in Keith Richards’ upcoming autobiography, Life (due out in October), the Rolling Stones guitarist confesses a secret longing to be a (wait for it) librarian? In fact, much of the book apparently details how Richards took refuge in books as a lad, and describes his attempts to classify his extensive book collections in Sussex and Connecticut. Supposedly, he even tried to Dewey Decimal the lot. Forget sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll—that is truly hardcore!
We are now seriously excited for this book to arrive. It has the potential to be even greater than our discovery a few years back that Art Garfunkel has kept a record of every book he’s read since 1968. And all of it—from Jean-Jacques Rousseau‘s Confessions to Nora Ephron‘s I Feel Bad About My Neck—is available on his website.
